Music at Carlisle UC

Our Choir

Described as "small but mighty", the chancel choir at Carlisle United Church is a dynamic group of people with a passion for music. We are interested in a variety of musical styles—classical, traditional, and contemporary—and are always ready to learn new, exciting pieces or revisit old favourites.

The choir generally performs an anthem for each Sunday service as well as pieces for special occasions, and rehearsals are held Sundays for about an hour and a half before service, September through June. Current choir members are encouraged to continue to share their talents and to grow musically, and new members are always welcome, no matter their level of expertise.

If you are interested in coming to join in the fun of choral singing, we invite you to speak with a choir member, contact our Music Director by leaving a message at the church office, or simply drop in on one of our Sunday morning rehearsals in the sanctuary to see what it's all about. If you have training in another instrument we would also be thrilled to hear from you, as there are always performance opportunities for instrumental soloists or those interested in performing alongside the choir.

To contact the Music Director, Heather Olaveson: leave a message at secretary@carlisleuc.ca or 905-689-8630.
