The symbol for Carlisle United Church was inspired by one of our stained glass windows – Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane.
We are disciples of the crucified and risen Christ, looking to the heart of an emptied cross.
The rays speak of light in darkness. They evoke the connection between Christ and the world. Rays of light and love reach out to a hurting world. In prayer, we hold people and our world in the light.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.
(John 8:12)
