Scouts Canada, 1st Carlisle

Scouts Canada is the country's leading youth organization. For more than 100 years, it has brought a world of adventure, outdoor experience and friendship to 17 million Canadian youth.

The 1st Carlisle group has been active in the Carlisle community since 1953, with Carlisle United Church as its sponsor.

Since 2002, Carlisle Scouts has been meeting at the Church for all programs from Beavers (ages 5-7) to Venturers (ages 14-18).

All programs are open to boys and girls who live in the greater Carlisle area.

Girl Guides of Canada

Guiding is the largest movement of girls and women in the world. It is a chance for girls to try new things and be adventurous with girls their own age.
The purpose of the Religion in Life Program is to provide Scouts or Guides with an opportunity to explore their faith, to make it a basic part of their personal life, and to share it with others.

Scouting and the Religion in Life Program

The United Church of Canada cooperates with Scouts Canada and the Girl Guides of Canada in the support of the Religion in Life Program.

Religion in Life program logo Membership in the Girl Guides of Canada and Scouts Canada is open to all girls and boys who wish to make the promise, regardless of race, colour or creed. The purpose of the Guide/Scout program is to assist girls and boys in character development by encouraging them to be responsible citizens of their country. An important part of the program is to assist in the spiritual growth of each girl or boy in their own religious community. Girl Guides of Canada and Scouts Canada uphold the principle that specific religious instruction is the responsibility of parents and religious authorities
